The International Meeting Place Portfolio Review for Artists, an integral part of the FotoFest 2018 Biennial, gives artists the opportunity to meet and show their work to top arts professionals from around the world. The event is truly a “meeting place”, where photographic artists, arts professionals, curators, collectors, and colleagues have the opportunity to network, collaborate, share ideas, and establish life-long connections.

The FotoFest International Meeting Place Portfolio Review, the oldest, largest, most international portfolio review program in the U.S., brings together 150 curators, editors, publishers, gallerists, collectors, and photo agencies with over 450 photographic artists from around the world and across the United States.

The FotoFest Meeting Place 2016 enriched my art practice beyond what I imagined. I met so many photographer/artists, as well as photography experts. I was hopeful that there would be some interest in my work, however I did not imagine being offered two shows in Europe and one in the United States.

Bennie Flores Ansell, Houston, TX, Registered Artist, 2016 Meeting Place

FotoFest has always been a useful platform for me to meet artists, and photographers especially. It has enabled me to acquire interesting works for my collection directly from the photographers.

Joaquim Paiva, Private Collector, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Reviewer, 2016 Meeting Place

Whether you are looking for practical results for a completed body of work or feedback on work in progress, the Meeting Place offers you the opportunity to present your portfolio to a wide range of photography decision-makers who can assist in your future career development: an exhibition, purchase of your work, an arts residency, or the publication of your work in a magazine, book, or online.

FotoFest invites some of the most important people in the field of photography from around the world to Houston for this event.

The Meeting Place is open to all photographic artists. However, space is limited.

For the 2018 Meeting Place, FotoFest has moved to a new, larger venue that can accommodate the review in three larger, 4-day sessions. The new configuration offers registrants more options per session. FotoFest DOES NOT pre-jury the Meeting Place.

The 2018 Meeting Place takes place at the Omni Houston Hotel, the FotoFest Headquarters Hotel in the Galleria-area of Houston.

Session 1: March 10 - 13, 2018
Session 2: March 15 - 18, 2018
Session 3: March 20 - 23, 2018

This is an amazing opportunity to see work, share work, and interact with artists and curators from around the world. It once again made a huge impact on my artwork and my career.

Kate Jordahl, Hayward, CA, Registered Artist, 2016 Meeting Place

[FotoFest runs] the entire operation so wonderfully well and with such a positive and can-do attitude that it makes the entire experience worthwhile for all us reviewers.

Roy Flukinger, Senior Research Curator, Harry Ransom Center, The University of Texas at Austin, Reviewer, 2016 Meeting Place
